Amélie Parczany is a Connecticut and New York City based collaborative dancer, choreographer, educator, and dance theatre artist. She was born in Berlin, Germany and raised in Branford, Connecticut. Amélie most recently received her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Theatre and Dance (choreography, dance education) from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA with a semester abroad at the Accademia Dell’Arte in Arezzo, Italy. Amélie has training in various techniques and dance styles such as ballet, modern/postmodern dance, contemporary ballet and various styles from the jazz vernacular. She also has many years of experience sharing her love of the arts with younger generations choreographing for various JR. musicals as well as being a dance instructor at Muhlenberg Community Dance Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania and currently teaches at Studio One Dance Center in Branford, Connecticut.
Notable credits include; performance in various pieces for faculty and guest artist concerts including works by choreographers Frederick Earl Mosley and David Dorfman, and student choreographed concerts at Muhlenberg College. As a choreographer, she works mainly in the dance-theatre realm, on collaborative works and devised processes. Favorite choreography credits include; Tick, Tick... Boom! (Fall 2022), Sing Happy! A Kander and Ebb Project (Original work, Fall 2023) and the premiere of her first concert length dance-theatre pieces at Muhlenberg College in 2024 and 2025.
